Po\u00e8te avant tout, il fit de la politique le prolongement d'une m\u00eame exigence : dire l'homme debout.<\/p>\n          <h2><span class=\"n\">01<\/span>L&#039;enfant de Basse-Pointe<\/h2>\n      <p>N\u00e9 le 26 juin 1913 \u00e0 <strong>Basse-Pointe<\/strong>, Aim\u00e9 C\u00e9saire est un boursier brillant du lyc\u00e9e Sch\u0153lcher, avant de gagner Paris, Louis-le-Grand puis l'\u00c9cole normale sup\u00e9rieure. L\u00e0, avec <strong>L\u00e9opold S\u00e9dar Senghor<\/strong> and <strong>L\u00e9on-Gontran Damas<\/strong>, il forge le concept de <strong>N\u00e9gritude<\/strong> : le refus de l'assimilation, l'affirmation d'une dignit\u00e9 noire.<\/p>      <p class=\"pull\">\u00ab Ma bouche sera la bouche des malheurs qui n'ont point de bouche. \u00bb<\/p>          <h2><span class=\"n\">02<\/span>Le po\u00e8te de la N\u00e9gritude<\/h2>\n      <p>En 1939 para\u00eet le <em>Cahier d'un retour au pays natal<\/em>, po\u00e8me-fondation de la litt\u00e9rature antillaise. Pendant la guerre, il anime avec son \u00e9pouse <strong>Suzanne C\u00e9saire<\/strong> la revue <em>Tropiques<\/em>. Viendront le <em>Speech on Colonialism<\/em> (1950), r\u00e9quisitoire toujours cit\u00e9, et un grand th\u00e9\u00e2tre : <em>La Trag\u00e9die du roi Christophe<\/em>, <em>Une saison au Congo<\/em>, <em>Une temp\u00eate<\/em>.<\/p>                <h2><span class=\"n\">03<\/span>L&#039;homme public<\/h2>\n      <p>Elected <strong>maire de Fort-de-France en 1945<\/strong>, il le restera jusqu'en 2001 ; <strong>member of the House of Representatives<\/strong> de la Martinique de 1945 \u00e0 1993, il est le rapporteur de la loi de d\u00e9partementalisation de 1946, avant d'en critiquer les impasses et de fonder, en 1958, le <strong>Martinique Progressive Party<\/strong>. Professeur au lyc\u00e9e Sch\u0153lcher, il fut aussi le ma\u00eetre de <strong>Frantz Fanon<\/strong> et une figure tut\u00e9laire pour <strong>\u00c9douard Glissant<\/strong>.<\/p>                <h2><span class=\"n\">04<\/span>Une parole toujours debout<\/h2>\n      <p>Disparu en 2008, honor\u00e9 d'obs\u00e8ques nationales et entr\u00e9 au Panth\u00e9on par une plaque en 2011, C\u00e9saire demeure une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence quotidienne.
