a close friend of Aim\u00e9 C\u00e9saire and served as his first deputy mayor in Fort-de-France for decades. A veteran of Martinican political life, he passed away at the age of 106. First as a doctor for the poor and later as Aim\u00e9 C\u00e9saire\u2019s right-hand man, Pierre Aliker navigated a century of Martinican history with rare steadfastness, eventually becoming its living memory.<\/p>\n          <h2><span class=\"n\">01<\/span>The doctor<\/h2>\n      <p><strong>Pierre Aliker<\/strong> He studied medicine and practiced it in the service of the people of Martinique. A man of science and hands-on experience, he devoted himself early on to a collective project for his country.<\/p>      <p class=\"pull\">\u00abLoyalty, when it lasts a century, becomes a lesson.\u00bb<\/p>          <h2><span class=\"n\">02<\/span>C\u00e9saire's First Deputy<\/h2>\n      <p>A pillar of the <strong>Martinique Progressive Party<\/strong>, Pierre Aliker becomes the <strong>first deputy<\/strong> from'<strong>Aim\u00e9 C\u00e9saire<\/strong> at City Hall in <strong>Fort-de-France<\/strong>, a position he held for decades. Discreet and loyal, he was one of the closest and most steadfast companions of the champion of N\u00e9gritude.<\/p>                <h2><span class=\"n\">03<\/span>The Dean<\/h2>\n      <p>Died in 2013 at the age of <strong>106 years<\/strong>, Pierre Aliker was for many years the elder statesman of Martinican politics. His longevity, his memory, and his loyalty to his ideals made him a respected figure far beyond his own political circle.<\/p>                <h2><span class=\"n\">04<\/span>A Family in History<\/h2>\n      <p>Aliker's name is also that of his brother, <strong>Andr\u00e9 Aliker<\/strong>, a reporter for the newspaper <em>Justice<\/em> Murdered in 1934 for exposing fraud committed by a powerful figure: another example of Martinican courage.
