A elles seules, sept r\u00e9gions du globe repr\u00e9sentent 83% de la fonte totale. En t\u00eate\u00a0: l&rsquo;Alaska (25% &#8211; soit 68Gt par an), l&rsquo;Arctique canadien (20%) et la p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie du Groenland (13%).<\/p>\n<p data-originalfontsize=\"16px\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"16\">Contrairement aux calottes glaciaires de l&rsquo;Antarctique et du Groenland, dont le rythme de la fonte a ralenti au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2010, les glaciers se liqu\u00e9fient donc de plus en plus vite. Cette surabondance d&rsquo;eau due aux seuls glaciers compte pour 21% de l&rsquo;augmentation du niveau des mers au cours de ces deux d\u00e9cennies, indique encore l&rsquo;\u00e9tude. Le reste est d\u00fb \u00e0 la dilatation de l&rsquo;eau sous l&rsquo;effet du r\u00e9chauffement.<\/p>\n<p data-originalfontsize=\"16px\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"16\">Au XXI\u00e8 si\u00e8cle, l&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9vation du niveau des mers menace directement les 200 millions d&rsquo;\u00eatres humains qui vivent en zone c\u00f4ti\u00e8re proche du niveau de la mer.
