The two companies are very familiar with one another, as the Burgundy-based producer has been handling the distribution of Rhum J.M\u2014owned by the Bernard Hayot Group (GBH)\u2014to cafes, hotels, and restaurants since 2004. Joseph Cartron will enhance Spiribam\u2019s portfolio, which already includes Rhum Cl\u00e9ment, the J.M. distillery, the Bounty, Chairman\u2019s Reserve, and Admiral Rodney brands produced by Saint Lucia Distillers, as well as the Mauritian brands Arcane and Beach House Spiced. The new group will thus be enriched by a broad range of renowned fruit creams, brandies, liqueurs, and vermouths.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abI am proud that the GBH Group has chosen our company as part of its expansion,\u00bb said Judith Cartron, president of Joseph Cartron, who will continue to lead Joseph Cartron and will be entrusted with a broader scope of responsibilities within the new organization. \u00abTogether, we will be able to accelerate the commercial development of our brands by leveraging the strength of our long-established distribution network in France.\u00bb\u00a0\u00ab Gr\u00e9goire Gu\u00e9den, director of GBH\u2019s spirits division, described this acquisition as a \u00bbmarriage of passion and reason\u201d that allows Spiribam to expand into spirits categories beyond rum. \u201cOur teams,\u201d Mr. Gu\u00e9den continued, \u201cknow each other very well and have been working together for over fifteen years; the skills and expertise of each of us will bring real added value to this new entity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The price of the transaction was not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Cartron produces and distributes an extensive collection of 70 flavors that blend tradition and innovation, including fruit creams, liqueurs, aperitifs (such as the first Burgundian vermouths), fruit brandies, and Burgundian marc and fines.
