{"id":54807,"date":"2024-03-26T10:17:32","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T09:17:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/antilla-martinique.com\/?p=54807"},"modified":"2024-03-26T10:17:32","modified_gmt":"2024-03-26T09:17:32","slug":"le-president-du-conseil-executif-demande-une-suspension-des-obligations-de-quitter-le-territoire-francais-pour-les-ressortissants-haitiens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/antilla-martinique.com\/en\/le-president-du-conseil-executif-demande-une-suspension-des-obligations-de-quitter-le-territoire-francais-pour-les-ressortissants-haitiens\/","title":{"rendered":"The President of the Executive Council Calls for a Suspension of the Requirement for Haitian Nationals to Leave French Territory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Martinique, March 25, 2024<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">In light of recent events in Haiti and the sharp deterioration of the public health situation in the country, Serge LETCHIMY, President of the Executive Council, sent a letter today to the Prefect of Martinique to express support for the initiative by the ASSOKA association calling for the suspension of the enforcement of Orders to Leave French Territory (OQTF) for Haitian nationals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-originalfontsize=\"12pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"16\">The United Nations High Commissioner has described the situation in the country as \u00abhighly unsustainable for the Haitian people.\u00bb Furthermore, \u00ab\u00a0<strong><em data-removefontsize=\"true\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"16\">\u00bbIt is hard to imagine that Haitian nationals could be subject to an OQTF.\u00ab \"In the face of the various crises currently affecting Haitian society, the people of Martinique feel compassion and solidarity for Haiti.
