As part of its commitment to promoting<\/strong>To promote regional development and improve the living conditions of employees and tenants, the Action Logement group has provided financial support for 13 innovative projects in Martinique. With a budget of 4.5 million euros allocated in the form of grants and loans, this initiative marks an important step in supporting local project leaders. At a meeting held on Friday, May 3, attended by the Director for Overseas Territories, Mr. Ibrahima Dia, and Alain Coridon, President of Action Logement Martinique, the project leaders presented their promising initiatives that address social, economic, digital, and environmental issues.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Project Presentations and Progress Reports<\/h2>\n

The completed projects are:<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

  • The Construction Industry Lab (LAKOUDIGITAL)<\/strong> : A training hub focused on the digital transformation of practices in the construction industry, aimed at integrating the latest technologies to create a more efficient and sustainable industry.<\/li>\n
  • BATISOLID (CERC Martinique)<\/strong> : This project aims to improve construction techniques and adapt standards to reduce the incidence of building damage, particularly in earthquake-prone areas.<\/li>\n
  • Ecological Water Management (OZANAM)<\/strong> : Implementation of an innovative wastewater treatment system for more environmentally friendly management in local residential communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Current projects include a variety of initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for seniors, and other projects\u2014such as Emerwall, which recycles bagasse into insulation panels\u2014demonstrate how innovation can directly contribute to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in construction.<\/p>\n

    • SIMAR<\/strong> : Implementation of an innovative policy to improve the well-being of seniors living in public housing.<\/li>\n
    • A Shared Vision for Large Public Housing Complexes (OZANAM)<\/strong> : Developing participatory assessments to improve quality of life in public housing.<\/li>\n
    • Urban Mangrove Project in Volga Plage<\/strong> : Creating spaces for social innovation to strengthen community resilience.<\/li>\n
    • Greywater Recycling (OZANAM)<\/strong> : Installation of recycling technology to reduce water consumption in residential buildings.<\/li>\n
    • The Circular Economy in the Construction Industry (Business and the Environment)<\/strong> : Raising awareness and providing training on the circular economy for stakeholders in the construction industry.<\/li>\n
    • Bio-based Insulation Panels (EMERWALL)<\/strong> : Experiment on the use of locally produced insulation made from sugarcane bagasse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Interviews and Perspectives<\/h2>\n

      Discussions with Alain Coridon<\/strong> and Sandra Mirailh<\/strong> highlighted the foundations and prospects of the projects supported by Action Logement. Coridon emphasized the role of grants as the primary financial lever for less affluent project leaders, while Mirailh, Overseas Project Director, explained how these projects address major challenges such as housing, employment, and social cohesion, while fostering local momentum through partnerships with national and regional authorities. She also expressed her satisfaction with the quality of the selected projects.<\/p>\n

      Recognizing the importance of this support, Action Logement officials have announced their intention to make this program a permanent feature, not only in the overseas territories but also nationwide. However, stricter criteria\u2014particularly environmental ones\u2014will be applied in future rounds of the program.<\/p>\n
