These days, I keep hearing people talk about \u00abour\u00bb Caribbean from all sides\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Here and there, we\u2019re either \u00abCaribbean\u00bb or \u00abAfro-Caribbean\u00bb\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

But that part of the Caribbean\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  • Who is she?\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Where is she?<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • What is she doing?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A lot of questions, but NONE<\/span> answer\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

    These are the days when I\u2019m waiting for a response\u2014or responses\u2014from our fellow citizens: CTM leaders, mayors\u2014sometimes associated with this or that municipality on this or that island in the Caribbean\u2014party leaders, the CCIM, political activists, and union leaders both big and small, \u00abrevolutionaries,\u00bb \u00abindependence advocates,\u00bb and \u00abassimilationists\u00bb\u2026<\/p>\n

    \u00abOur\u00bb Caribbean is sometimes brought up when the goal is to denounce this or that opinion, this or that party, but without any \u00abobjective\u00bb data\u2026<\/p>\n

    Do you want some questions?<\/h2>\n

    Here are a few of them\u2026<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • What is the minimum wage (or its equivalent) in Saint Lucia, Dominica, or Jamaica? What are the prices of \u00abtheir\u00bb \u00abCGM,\u00bb etc.?.<\/li>\n
    • How do our GDP figures compare to theirs over the past 5, 10, 15, or 20 years?<\/li>\n
    • How are civil servants, teachers, professors, doctors, engineers, farmers, agricultural workers, the unemployed, farm laborers, businesses, and \u00ablocal\u00bb and \u00abnon-local\u00bb business owners treated there\u2026<\/li>\n
    • What's the status of his insurance policy?<\/li>\n
    • What is the current status of the fight against drug trafficking?<\/li>\n
    • What's the latest on \u00abcorruption\u00bb?<\/li>\n
    • What kind of aid does it receive from the international \u00abcommunity\u00bb (China, the U.S., Europe, etc.) and why is this aid provided? And what is expected in \u00abreturn\u00bb\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Admittedly, for example, the strategies of France and Great Britain have always been very different, and at present\u2014particularly with regard to Africa\u2014it is by no means certain that the former French colonies are faring better than the former British colonies\u2026<\/p>\n

      As for the problem that has been so terribly rocking \u00abour\u00bb country in recent months, the high cost of living,<\/strong> Do we have any points of comparison that would let us know whether \u00abthey\u00bb are doing \u00abbetter\u00bb or \u00abworse\u00bb than we are\u2026?<\/p>\n

      What studies have our beloved \u00abINSEE\u00bb\u2014and especially \u00abour\u00bb CTM\u2014conducted to inform our opinion and prevent truths and nonsense from getting mixed up \u2026?<\/p>\n

      Who has taken\u2014even just one of our famous rubber boats\u2014to cross the two tiny straits that separate us from them in order to \u00abinform \u00bb (to inform, not to manipulate) the people of Guadeloupe and Martinique\u2026?<\/p>\n

      Who? Who? Who?<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Ayen! Nobody!<\/h3>\n

      Personally, I have my own opinion on these issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Not out of ideology, but because, having spent quite a bit of time with our \u00abbrothers\u00bb from \u00abour\u00bb Caribbean, \u00abtheir\u00bb answers gave me some insights that neither INSEE nor the CTM had provided me with\u2026<\/p>\n

      Try this for yourselves\u2026 It\u2019s possible for each and every one of us\u2026<\/p>\n

      And, well, if this one turned out not to be too out of its depth in this head-to-head comparison\u2026<\/p>\n

      I feel even more at ease<\/span>, because I know that what \u00abwe\u00bb<\/span> The fact that we are here in 2024 is the result of a silent, continuous, and tenacious struggle waged by the four or five generations of moms and dads who came before us (Thank you, Mom Ninie; thank you, Dad Saint-ange; Thank you, Uncle Marcel, Uncle Gratiant, Thank you, Aunt Flora, Thank you, Mom Asie, and I can\u2019t name them all here\u2026) and to whom I owe, without a doubt, every achievement I have today, the result of their quiet BUT deliberate and conscious strategy.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

      YES, I AM AWARE.<\/span><\/h2>\n

      Those who think otherwise are overlooking this fabulous legacy.<\/p>\n

      And that's sad\u2026<\/p>\n
