\nBermudAir has announced the launch of AnguillAir, a new service offering direct flights between Boston and Baltimore and the island of Anguilla starting this winter.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the first time, travelers departing from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Baltimore\/Washington International Airport (BWI) will be able to fly directly to Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA) in Anguilla.<\/p>\n

The service will begin on December 19 and will mark the Bermuda-based company's first major expansion since its launch in September 2023.<\/p>\n

According to BermudAir's press office, the Boston-Anguilla route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with a departure from BOS at 10:05 a.m. and a return flight from AXA at 4:10 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Baltimore-Anguilla route will also operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, with a departure from BWI at 10:25 a.m. and a return flight from AXA at 4:25 p.m.<\/p>\n

This program will continue through April.<\/p>\n

In a government video released on June 26, Prime Minister Cora Richardson Hodge described these new connections from the northeastern United States as a \u00abmajor milestone\u00bb for Anguilla.<\/p>\n

\u00abThis is excellent news, because the Northeast Corridor continues to bring more visitors to Anguilla than any other region,\u00bb she said.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister emphasized that this new service is the result of the work of Infrastructure Minister Jose Vanterpool and his team, who are responsible for modernizing Anguilla\u2019s airport.<\/p>\n

\u00abWe are confident that the tourism sector will remain strong and support our gross domestic product growth forecasts,\u00bb she added.<\/p>\n

She also emphasized that this is a significant step forward, as these flights will provide direct access to Anguilla during the winter season.<\/p>\n

Infrastructure Minister Jose Vanterpool explained that establishing this air service required finding a partner with the fleet and capacity to operate safely in Anguilla and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u00abIt took targeted, strategic negotiations to achieve this result\u2014establishing a direct connection to our main U.S. market and launching the first international flights to our modernized airport.\u00bb<\/p>\n

He specified that the flights will be operated by a BermudAir Embraer 190 twin-engine jet.<\/p>\n

Tourism Minister Cardigan Connor also welcomed this development: \u00abNo matter how good our tourism offerings are, they\u2019re of little value if visitors can\u2019t easily reach our destination.\u00bb<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the launch of direct flights from Boston and Baltimore will be \u00abtransformative.\u00bb.<\/p>\n
