hommage ainsi qu&rsquo;\u00e0 sa fille Serena, tous deux <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caymancompass.com\/2025\/11\/11\/cayman-church-founder-and-daughter-die-in-plane-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span dir=\"auto\">d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s lundi dans un accident d&rsquo;avion<\/span><\/a><span dir=\"auto\"> alors qu&rsquo;ils livraient des secours aux victimes de l&rsquo;ouragan en Jama\u00efque.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Wurm, 53 ans, fondateur du minist\u00e8re Ignite the Fire bas\u00e9 aux \u00eeles Ca\u00efmans, et sa fille Serena, \u00e2g\u00e9e de 22 ans, sont d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s lorsque le petit avion qu&rsquo;il pilotait s&rsquo;est \u00e9cras\u00e9 dans un lac d&rsquo;une communaut\u00e9 ferm\u00e9e de Coral Springs, en Floride.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Le Premier ministre Andr\u00e9 Ebanks a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab Nous sommes tous choqu\u00e9s et constern\u00e9s par la perte tragique et inattendue \u00bb du p\u00e8re et de la fille.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Il a d\u00e9crit Wurm comme ayant apport\u00e9 une \u00ab contribution remarquable \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 des \u00eeles Ca\u00efmans \u00bb, pour laquelle sensibilisation \u00e0 West Bay il y a plusieurs ann\u00e9es et qui a ensuite rejoint le conseil d&rsquo;administration d&rsquo;Ignite the Fire, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il souhaitait \u00e9tendre sa mission \u00e9vang\u00e9lique \u00e0 travers les Cara\u00efbes et qu&rsquo;il avait \u00e9tabli son minist\u00e8re aux \u00eeles Ca\u00efmans dans cette optique.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-rec seulement comme un leader et un coll\u00e8gue, mais aussi comme un ami \u00bb, et qu&rsquo;elle regretterait son \u00ab amour pour les gens \u00bb et sa passion pour s&rsquo;adresser aux jeunes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Le d\u00e9crivant comme \u00ab tr\u00e8s d\u00e9termin\u00e9, tr\u00e8s passionn\u00e9 et fonceur \u00bb, elle a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab Tout ce qu&rsquo;il jugeait possible de faire, il le faisait. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">C\u2019est l\u2019attitude qu\u2019il avait adopt\u00e9e lors de l\u2019achat et de l\u2019\u00e9quipement de son avion Beechcraft King Air B100, qu\u2019il avait acquis l\u2019ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente dans l\u2019intention de l\u2019utiliser pour des missions humanitaires, l&rsquo;avion, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 un stage de formation \u00e9vang\u00e9lique \u00e0 Orlando, en Floride, en ao\u00fbt dernier. \u00ab C&rsquo;est tellement irr\u00e9el \u00bb, a-t-elle d\u00e9clar\u00e9, \u00ab car je repense \u00e0 tous les autres voyages qu&rsquo;il voulait faire pour des missions et pour servir les autres. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span dir=\"auto\">\u00ab Une personne authentique et attentionn\u00e9e \u00bb<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>James Whittaker, founder and CEO of GreenTech Solar, who had communicated with Wurm recently about sourcing portable solar panels and Starlink communications systems, said he would miss him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had gotten to know Alex over the last few years after he moved to Cayman,\u201d he said \u201cYou would be hard pressed to find a more genuine or caring individual and he quickly became part of the fabric of the island.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m heartbroken for he and his daughter and their entire family. I truly appreciated the kind of pastor he was. He would often reach out to me, asking what he could pray for, and he consistently offered encouragement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis willingness to help made him a true example of a servant evangelist. I pray that the fire he sparked here in Cayman will continue to burn bright and that his legacy will endure. My deepest condolences to his lovely wife, children and church family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sean Malone, of Crisis Response International, with whom Wurm and Ignite the Fire had been working recently to bring relief supplies to Jamaica, said, \u201cHe had a huge vision and heart for the people of the Caribbean nations and when this hurricane happened, he didn\u2019t hesitate, he sprung into action and did what he could with what he had in his hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cI just want his family to know, and those who knew him, that he really made a difference to the lives of the people on the ground. By getting the resources in that he did, he saved lives and he gave his life for the people of the nations that were on his heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_784537\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-784537\"><a class=\"td-modal-image\" href=\"https:\/\/caymancompass.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Alex-Wurm1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-784537\" src=\"https:\/\/caymancompass.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Alex-Wurm1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"508\" height=\"502\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-784537\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ferrin Cole, also of Crisis Response International, described the ceaseless efforts Wurm had been making over the days following Hurricane Melissia to help communities in Jamaica. \u201cWorking with Alexander was an honour,\u201d he said. \u201cHe kept showing up over and over, repeatedly flying in supplies we couldn\u2019t get anywhere else here in Jamaica.
