L&rsquo;analyse met en \u00e9vidence une s\u00e9rie de blocages \u00e9conomiques, fonciers, culturels et institutionnels qui expliquent cette vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>A Dependency That Has Become Structural<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">Martinique currently produces only a limited portion of its food supply. Vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, and feed for livestock are primarily sourced from outside the island. Depending on the sector, this dependence ranges from 76% to 98%, revealing an economic model that has developed over decades around imports rather than agricultural diversification.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>The Impact of Eating Habits<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">La souverainet\u00e9 alimentaire ne d\u00e9pend pas seulement de la production. Les \u00e9tudes \u00a0 montrent que les Martiniquais consomment davantage de produits transform\u00e9s, moins de fruits et moins de produits laitiers que les habitants de l&rsquo;Hexagone. D\u00e9velopper une production locale suppose donc aussi de r\u00e9concilier consommateurs et produits du territoire, en am\u00e9liorant leur accessibilit\u00e9, leur valorisation et leur pr\u00e9sence dans les circuits de distribution.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>Challenges, but also strengths<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">Unlike Guyana, a sovereign state, Martinique operates within the framework of French and European regulations. While this situation limits certain areas of flexibility, it also provides privileged access to significant funding sources such as POSEI, the EAFRD, and the ERDF. The real challenge, therefore, is not to replicate the Guyanese model, but to make more effective use of the tools already available to build a strategy tailored to the realities of Martinique.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>A transformation that goes beyond agriculture<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">Beyond the numbers, this dependence raises questions about the island\u2019s development model. Producing more locally requires rethinking land use, supporting producers, organizing supply chains, and changing dietary habits.
