Audrey Borius, Director of Investments and Communications at the Citadelle Group since 2020, has just been recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in Mobility in Vulog International’s 2024 ranking*. This distinction highlights the Citadelle Group’s efforts to promote shared mobility in its overseas territories, including the launch of its micro-mobility operator ZWAV in Réunion and ambitious projects in Martinique. Here’s a look back at Audrey Borius’s career and the landmark initiatives that have shaped her influence in the mobility industry.

Audrey Borius, a pioneer of shared mobility in the French overseas territories

Shared mobility is revolutionizing travel habits in many cities around the world. However, its adoption in overseas territories remains a major challenge. It is in this context that Audrey Borius, head of investments and communications at the Citadelle Group, stands out for its leading role in the rollout of shared mobility solutions tailored to the specific characteristics of our regions.

Named one of the Most Influential Women in Mobility in 2024 by Vulog International, Audrey Borius embodies the vision of sustainable and accessible mobility for all. Under her leadership, the Citadelle Group has launched ZWAV, an electric micromobility operator in La Meeting, offering residents of La Possession and Saint-Paul a self-service electric scooter and kick scooter service.

«This is a wonderful recognition for the Group and for Audrey, at a time when we are investing in Réunion and, soon, in Martinique, to bring the benefits of shared mobility to residents of our overseas territories at a competitive and cost-effective price… This effort is largely driven by the energy and dedication Audrey brings to this project, among the many others she oversees.»

comment Cyril Comte, CEO of the Citadelle Group.

The Challenge of Local Adoption One of the major challenges facing Audrey Borius and her team is getting local residents to adopt these new mobility solutions. To address this, ZWAV is relying on a pragmatic strategy that combines availability, reliability, and carbon neutrality.

«We ensure optimal vehicle availability and reliability through our battery exchange, vehicle repositioning, and maintenance services, available 7 days a week… In addition, to provide greater visibility and convenience for users, ZWAV parking spaces are marked with special pavement markings.»

    explains Audrey Borius.

Carbon Neutrality: A Priority Beyond accessibility, ZWAV places carbon neutrality at the heart of its priorities. «We’re helping to improve the quality of life for the residents of Réunion and reduce CO2 emissions and traffic congestion on the island,» says Audrey Borius. «In addition, battery exchange and maintenance tasks are carried out by our teams using a 100% electric truck, in line with the startup’s carbon neutrality goal.»

ZWAV’s success in Réunion is just the beginning of the Citadelle Group’s ambitious expansion strategy in the French overseas territories. With projects currently underway in Martinique, Audrey Borius intends to continue her efforts to make shared mobility a sustainable and beneficial reality for people in the overseas territories.

«This recognition from Vulog International provides additional motivation to continue promoting innovative and sustainable mobility solutions tailored to local conditions,» Audrey Borius concludes, «Our goal is to become the leading shared mobility provider in the French overseas territories.»

*About the Most Influential Women in Mobility Report First launched in 2019 by Vulog International, this annual report honors women around the world who are driving change in mobility. By highlighting some of the industry’s most dynamic women and their achievements, the goal is to raise awareness of the importance of women’s role in shaping mobility and to encourage progress toward greater gender parity.
