A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover the child's medical expenses; she is known as «Tiny but tough,» according to her family.

Gabriella Pierson and Andrew Beauchene weren't expecting their first child until February of next year.

Due to complications during the pregnancy, the baby was born in November and was immediately flown to Florida to receive emergency care.

The family now reports that the baby is doing well, has doubled in weight, and is getting stronger every day, even though she remains in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Although the couple has health insurance, it does not cover all of their medical and other expenses.

They launched a GoFundMe page and are asking people to consider making a donation.

In a statement to Compass on behalf of the family, Yasmane Tibbetts-Beauchene, the baby’s grandmother, said: «Little Beauchene’s family is happy to announce that she is doing well and making great progress every day. She is still receiving specialized care in Florida, and the family does not yet know when she will be able to leave the hospital.»
