The mayor signed an agreement with the CAF.

Bringing people together, giving families hope, and fostering the drive to succeed… These could be the key themes of the renewed commitment signed on Monday, October 28, between the city of Le Lamentin and the CAF of Martinique.

The regional development plan outlined in this agreement is organized around four themes: early childhood, youth, parenting, and community engagement. To these must be added four cross-cutting priorities: precarious living conditions, housing, the regional plan for access to services, citizenship, and secularism.

This new agreement, signed for the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2028, extends a highly successful partnership. The 2024–2028 regional development plan, spearheaded by the Comprehensive Territorial Agreement: Building a strong social initiative that fosters social cohesion.

The meeting took place on October 28.

    For example:

    For Parenting
o The establishment of a family center,
o The expansion of initiatives under the REAAP (Network for Listening, Support, and Parenting Guidance).
o The creation of a parenting coordination task force.

    For Youth
o The creation of a job placement program for young people ages 16 to 25,
o Training campaigns for local partners and families on the services offered by the CAF and the city,
o The rollout of Wednesday after-school programs in neighborhoods.

    For Social Activities
o The creation of a community center,
o Support and training for organizations (JVA, MACPA, etc.),
o Supporting and promoting citizen and community initiatives through the awarding of grants.

    For Housing
o Providing support to families regarding specific issues: joint ownership, home improvements,
o The pilot program for the «rental permit» system,
o The establishment of a Young Workers' Residence.
