    My dear Raphaël Confiant,

I just read on your website fondaskreyol As of today: « Crédit Martiniquais: Is Its Demise Inevitable? »—and the title of your article itself has one too many characters: the «?».".

In fact, Maurice Laouchez clearly stated in the book which he published to recount his journey at the helm of Crédit Agricole de la Martinique—and to show what can happen to those who take their responsibilities seriously…

You must remember that he had to go on a «HUNGER STRIKE» right in the middle of the avenue where «his» bank was located in order to save his honor AND to give the people of Martinique—or at least those who want to— decipher the ins and outs of our «local» reality.

In this book, in addition to Maurice’s unflinching account of his exemplary struggle, TWO information that can or should help identify the person or persons who MUST BE IDENTIFIED.

1/ On page «xx»—I’ll leave it up to our readers to find it—Maurice recounts how, as a young (and brilliant) student, he was visited by… Guess who…

    >> General De Gaulle, yes, the greatest head of state France has known since Louis XIV, and that during that conversation, he had spoken about Martinique, its problems, and… the OJAM.

Personally, I’ve always linked this visit to the fact that, around the same time, the «Young People» (??) of the OJAM,  were in prison, and that one of them—perhaps the most symbolic of them all—, Henri Armougon, had clung to the bars of his cell and screamed—loudly, very loudly—on that freezing early morning at the end of winter =

«  MARTINIQUE FOR THE PEOPLE OF MARTINIQUE ».

I am quoting Armougon (Rico Armougon) deliberately, because it seems to me that in these times—from 2020 to 2026—people are looking down on those of «Indo descent.»  or «people of Syrian descent» … (Well, maybe we’ll talk about that later…?).

2/ But the second important piece of information cited in Maurice's book, on page zz, is this >> The end of…CREDIT MARTINIQUAIS.

That's right: this «local» bank;  which brought together «local» entrepreneurs (i.e., «Békés» or «Mulattoes») and «local» companies and entrepreneurs

Do you think these two events are related?

    Or are not related?

Do they have political significance or not?

Whether they stem from a «central» initiative»  Or not?

    —–
