The organization received a check for 10,000 euros.

In 2023, the 16th edition of the “Martinique Gourmande” event, held in Quebec, raised 10,000 euros.  The funds were officially presented by Bénédicte Di Geronimo, president of the Martinique Tourism Committee, to the Soulajé Difikilté Frèw (SDF) association on Monday, September 2.

Through Bénédicte Di Géronimo, the Martinique Tourism Committee presented a check for 10,000 euros to the Soulajé Difikilté Frèw (SDF) association, represented by the artist Mali. In doing so, the CMT is demonstrating its support for the association’s work on behalf of marginalized individuals. These funds were raised during the Martinique Gourmande 2023 culinary festival in Quebec.

5,000 meals for the Food Bank

On this occasion, the president noted that for the past five years, the «Martinique Gourmande» initiative has included a charitable component involving the distribution of 5,000 meals featuring Martinican flavors to the Montreal Food Bank. “I wanted this charitable component to be extended here in Martinique to support organizations that also use gastronomy as a tool for charitable initiatives,” explains the president.
Thanks to this donation, the organization will be able to expand its sports, cultural, and training programs, which are designed to promote self-reliance and help young people enter the workforce.

The organization works to combat social exclusion.

For the past two years, the charitable arm of Martinique Gourmande has also been expanding its reach in Martinique. Thanks to the success of the Marché Créole, the proceeds from the 2023 event were donated to the SDF association to support its work.
A charity event that highlights the commitment of the president of the Martinique Tourism Committee to high-quality, responsible, and inclusive tourism that benefits everyone.
